Blogging Sites
I am going to have my students blog as part of a writing assignment. While I realize that some students already blog, I would like to ask them to use the same blogging site for my class. I am new to blogging so I am looking for your advice on a site to use for this assignment. In addition, I am looking for efficient ways to give students credit for this work without the need for me to read and evaluate every entry. So any suggestions for that would be very much appreciated.

    Patricia,
I’ve been pointing faculty to blogger.com which is part of the Google Suite. Gmail is part of that, and I’m assuming students have gmail accounts.
One way of streamlining assessment is to have one blog where all the students post and comment. Each student can tag her post with her name. The result is that you have a link (via the tag) to all the entries from that student. You can skim from there, or have students peer review. In that case, a rubric for them might be useful.
