cdi.sdsu.edu has arrived!

Thanks to Marc Pastor, we’ve got what’s called a redirect, which means that if you use the url http://cdi.sdsu.edu you’ll end up here even though this url (look in your address bar) still says http://sdsu-pict-cdi.org. Either address will work, but of course cdi.sdsu.edu is soooo much easier to remember.

How’s it going 2008 Fellows?

It’s the middle, ok more than middle of the summer and Faculty Fellows have been beavering away at their projects. I emailed them to check in and hope some will share with comments here.

Deliverables 2 and 3 for 2007 Fellows up and ready to go

We had a very successful working group session on June 13th for 2007 Fellows. One of our goals was to collectively produce a draft of the the next 2 deliverables. The impetus behind having Fellows decide what their goals will be is rooted in creating more collaborative leadership mechanisms and bringing Faculty’s organizational and governing experience into programmatic decision making. We also believe that folks are generally more enthusiastic about achieving goals when they’re involved in setting them. The document is linked here and on the Resources for Fellows page.

Update on Deliverables — Our Assessment Toolkit

Greetings 2007 Fellows,

We’re working on the tools and support you’ll be using to complete deliverables for your 2nd and 3rd design iterations. One of those is the web-based formative assessment toolkit, Marcie Bober is developing with Ed Tech grad student, Yong Chen. We’re shooting for the end of the semester as a release date for the remainder of the toolkit. Presently, it includes CATs (Classroom Assessment Techniques) materials - an overview, definitions, descriptions, and how to build a “How’s it going” survey.

We’re hoping this toolkit will simplify the rather sweeping landscape of assessment and help you choose effective assessment strategies based on your goals and needs. BTW, assessment is the theme of our 2008 Institute.

Stay tuned and in the meantime, here’s a good read from Educause Library
